Dedicated to the Ptolemaic era, this exhibition presented portrait paintings and drawings of rulers and political figures connected to ancient Alexandria. Inspired by ancient painting techniques and historical sources, the works sought to revive the aesthetic qualities of Classical Antiquity while offering a contemporary interpretation of figures who shaped the city’s political and cultural identity.
First presented in 2019 at the Goethe-Institut Alexandria as part of the Journées du Patrimoine Alexandrin 2019, the exhibition was subsequently displayed at the Consulate General of Spain in Alexandria and later at the Egypt-Japan University of Science and Technology on the occasion of the presidential inauguration ceremony.
